TIFF Lightbox
The TIFF Lightbox project in downtown Toronto exemplifies the fusion of culture and design in a fast-paced urban context. This intervention reimagines the streetfront with an inviting and transparent façade that seamlessly connects the public realm to the interior. The design includes carefully considered internal fit-outs, creating engaging spaces for public interaction and efficient back-of-house operations. Material selections reflect a distinctly Canadian identity, incorporating natural textures and tones that evoke the country's landscapes while maintaining a contemporary urban aesthetic. The design process was highly iterative during the schematic phase, exploring multiple strategies to balance functionality, aesthetics, and the client’s vision. Completed by Saadman during a tenure at Gensler Toronto, this project highlights a commitment to thoughtful design that enriches the cultural fabric of the city.
